It's pretty painful to see the exact same media-narrative game being spun over and over again, in just about every theater. A very direct comparison can be drawn between what Ukraine-US-NATO have done today, and what "Israel" does on a regular basis.

Step 2: Wait for the due retaliation from the other side.
Step 3: Cry victim at this retaliation, pretend it was an out-of-the-blue attack, and then pretend the rest of your actions are thus justified because of it.

We see it in every round of fighting between Gaza and "Israel": the Zionist Occupation Army attacks first, and the moment the first Resistance rockets start flying back in response, all media rushes to report this "uncalled for aggression", and justifies "Israeli self-defense".
We're seeing the same thing play out today, and really it's something we see painfully frequently. Now the Ukraine-NATO-US side are screaming about "Russian aggression", which is pretty hilarious considering how the situation actually played out.
Ukraine did not request permission to enter Russian waters, were warned by the Russian Navy not to proceed or they will be fired at, then they proceeded anyway. What exactly did they think would happen? Actually, the exact thing that did, so they can call it "Russian aggression".
Of course, that's why so much time is spent talking about the power of the media; what actually happens doesn't matter, just clip and cut it the way you like, then send it around the world in that form. Same goes for all other reports of "Russian aggression", for that matter.
Same goes for the "Novichok" nonsense: put together what is essentially an LARP session then report it as if it really happened. Boom, millions convinced. Same for the "Assad's Chemical Weapons" farces, of which the best proof is the reaction to AQ *actually* using them: silence.
Control the narrative, and do as you like- and for good measure, while you're at it, teeter us on the brink of world destruction to preserve your aging, ailing imperialist empires. Sounds good to me.
