Tim Montgomerie and Brexit secretary Steve Barclay both disgraced themselves over this. They should retract what they said.
But all of us should take a hard look at what's happening down there and put limits on how we speak. No more talk of traitors. No more threats of violence on the street.

This seems quite dangerous and like it's on the edge of turning violent. It's the same guys in each video.
I understand police have a very delicate job to do there. But they seem to have very little effective presence despite there being rather a lot of them around.
Nothing has happened yet, but it feels on the verge of it - and like normal people will start staying away, which is intolerable given it's parliament.

I think this is the most challenging question for Remainers on the 'traitor' norm. Obvs it does not stop you looking into the links, or saying that certain policies are useful to Russia, and actively pursued and encouraged by Russia.
But I do think it should discourage us from calling anyone who is ie pro-Brexit a Putin stooge, or instinctively ruling out their views as the result of Russian propaganda.
But I get that this is a sticky wicket and I can imagine myself, in a moment of anger, landing on the wrong side of it.

I don't think there is much doubt that the UK government would not start to deport EU27 citizens en masse after 29 March. This is not what causes the anxiety though. The focus has been on "allowed to stay" - but what does that mean? /2
Essentially it boils down to a binary question of whether an individual would be allowed to continue to live in the UK. But this ignores basic facts. First, many EU citizens have been in the UK for a long time. So anxiety is not about "staying". It is the terms and conditions. /3

Many tell me that the majority of British people are not against EU citizens and that we are welcome. I used to believe that. Can I still? It’s simple: if this were true, this majority would be with us. Visibly. Noisily. I don’t see nor hear them. 2/
