Tim Montgomerie and Brexit secretary Steve Barclay both disgraced themselves over this. They should retract what they said.
But all of us should take a hard look at what's happening down there and put limits on how we speak. No more talk of traitors. No more threats of violence on the street.
You can still be unbelievably rude to your opponents in all the other ways available and indeed I guarantee I personally will do so.
But we can come together over this behaviour: the far-right don't get to intimidate other people out of enjoying their democratic right to speak or protest.
