Episode 3: The Niger Delta Issue as a Drain Pipe.

One of the reasons why I decided to endorse the continuity of the @MBuhari administration and support the @APCNigeria government is the administration's sincere handling of the Niger Delta question.
The military, especially in the mid-90s, during General Abacha Regime, used Niger Delta crisis to threaten Western Oil interest in Nigeria in response to the sanctions imposed on the country. But by 1999, when @OfficialPDPNig took over the govt, things changed.
After winning power in 1999, the @OfficialPDPNig govt decided to use force, instead of orchestrating a roundtable discussion to address the sincere grievances of the Niger Delta. Due to heavy reliance on force, the Niger Delta militancy grew into full-blown crisis in Nigeria
Oil bunkering afterward, became the order of the day as politicians took advantage of the crisis, in rounds to control who has access to unaccounted oil that is carted away in form of bunkering to the detriment of the collective well-being of innocent Nigerians in the region.
When the government of the @OfficialPDPNig makes an effort to solve the problem, they are mostly prevented by political interest and allow the bunker lords, who in most cases are not even the militants, to continue their bunkering. This provides off-the-book cash for politicians.
The coming of the government of President @MBuhari nearly put a stop to that, by sincerely looking at the problem and genuinely making effort to bring a final resolution to the issue by simply doing the right thing and talking to the right people in the interest of the country.
That is why for some time, the Niger Delta crisis is not as prevalent as is used to be. Pres. @MBuhari did his best to consider the interest of the people, survivability of the country & the preservation of the national asset, as more paramount than some narrow political interest
Some of us may consider the coming back of @SenatorAkpabio, @eeuofficial & some respected elders of the @OfficialPDPNig from Niger Delta to @APCNigeria as purely political. Be that as it may, it is also attributed to the fact that they acknowledged the govt effort in the region.
If you recall in Nigeria, at the height of oil bunkering in 2014, under @OfficialPDPNig govt, more than 400,000 barrel of crude oil is bunkered per day. This drain pipe is now over under the current @APCNigeria govt. @MBuhari administration consistently records high oil output.
The people of the Niger Delta are now more secure, our pipelines are more protected, the amnesty program with the former agitators was not honestly applied and the country's asset is properly preserved and protected. What a great credit to the Pres. @MBuhari & @ProfOsinbajo govt.
I chose the support the @APCNigeria under @MBuhari for him to continue to press a reset button on all the drain pipes in the country. I encourage all of us to support and vote for the @APCNigeria for us to get to #NextLevelNigeria.

Thank you.
