I get what you’re saying but what I’m telling you is Democrats aren’t and don’t have to go out of our way to alienate anyone, it happens by sheer virtue of the fact that we’re a coalition of marginalized groups fighting for civil rights/social justice. The WWC is self-alienating.
@fvehafric The WWC is alienated by diversity of thought and appearance. Nothing has to be done to make them feel ostracized from a group that doesn’t look like them and isn’t predicated on furtherance of their feigned superiority in America.
@fvehafric Beyond that the main alienation in question here is the one that occurred when LBJ/Democrats signed the Civil Rights Act then Voting Rights Act, policy prescriptions for institutionalized racism that alienated the White majority who actually preferred Jim Crow.
@fvehafric This is a fundamental pillar of the Democratic Party platform and it was a clarion call to White America that the party would be inhospitable to White supremacy in its ranks. I’m a-o-fucking-k with maintaining that distinction forever and “alienating” racists with it.
@fvehafric It’s unrealistic to expect that the big tent will feel like home to everyone and a lot of folk who claim to feel alienated by Democrats feel that way because we don’t give aid and comfort to their bigotry and ignorance. We won’t change for them, even if it means losing
