@JodoKast1 @synsei @Stephen_A_Roman @davidhogg111 @NRA Oh, LOL, my bad. Agree. Unions have a long history of assoc w/organized crime & poor mgmt. Biggest issue is most of the leadership has no biz acumen, so they often try to negotiate for the unrealistic & leave their members worse off. Take the SoCal 2004 UFCW strike against
@JodoKast1 @synsei @Stephen_A_Roman @davidhogg111 @NRA Safeway, tho grocers have razor thin margins. They struck b/c Safeway wanted to charge them a $20/mo HC prem. They ended up winning that, but lost time & 1/2 pay, base salaries were decr, decr holiday pay, no personal days, & the wait to start new hire benes incr. Pretty sure
@JodoKast1 @synsei @Stephen_A_Roman @davidhogg111 @NRA they lost that deal in the end. Same thing w/Red4Ed last spring. In CO, we have a tax payer bill of rights, so any tax incr must be voted for by the ppl. If a tax incr for ed doesn't pass, no extra $ for teachers, Not to mention that teachers marched on capitals, but ed funding
@JodoKast1 @synsei @Stephen_A_Roman @davidhogg111 @NRA is a local issue. When asked why the capital, unions reps stated "B/c [media] wouldn't pay attn if we weren't here in huge group." Ppl have some glorified image of Norma Rae standing on her machine table, but they don't realize how corrupt most unions have become.
