There needs to be a new 'brand' of traditional Islam. One that is on the right side of political issues, is not timid about aqida issues and is willing to relate to people/youth and be accessible.
The "right side" might be relative and vague. What I mean is that it should be thought through. We should have practical political positions consistent with our beliefs. "Do not rebel" does not equal Quietism.
And the idea of entanglement with rulers...it should be more distinct...it's about supporting opporessors. That's the problem. If the president is not an oppressor and the intention is to give counsel, there's nothing wrong with that.
