So, first I shared this @nytimes article on @facebook. It was censored for going against community standards for nudity and sexual content. It shows a young girl who is emaciated in Yemen. I asked for a review. Censorship was upheld. (See next.)
So then, I posted this, which was subsequently censored for the same reason (no, I'm not surprised).
So, I asked for a second review of the first post in which I was asked to explain my reasoning:
I included this link (which you should also check out), in the hopes that someone would be able to evaluate the content together with the picture, instead of just looking at the picture alone: nytimes.com/2018/10/26/rea…
Now I've posted a third time. I'm sure it will be censored again. But I'm hoping that if enough people are getting their same @nytimes posts censored, @facebook will decide to reevaluate THEIR community standards when it comes to photojournalism.
Update: @facebook has reviewed its earlier review of a review of my post and decided the photo w/ @NickKristof’s @nytimes article still goes against community standards.
So, I asked for another review. Going to keep asking until our collective asking (hopefully) catches someone’s attention. @facebook @nytimes @NickKristof
@facebook I really hope your response will be different this time. You’re censoring journalism. @NickKristof @nytimes
Update: Now I cant access my own @facebook page. @NickKristof @nytimes. I guess that’s what happens when you use FB’s own review process for content.
Update: I'm now being routed through mandatory reading time of @facebook's community standards because I repeatedly requested them to review a photo accompanying @NickKristof's @nytimes article. @nytopinion No idea if my profile access will be back after.
Update: My @facebook profile access is back. Apparently just had to sit on a community standards page time out. @NickKristof @nytimes
This is what I'm currently seeing on my @facebook profile. The photo of the girl in Yemen w/ @NickKristof's @nytimes article is still blocked and under another review.
I've also been getting these standard emails from @facebook about the community standards violations for the @NickKristof @nytimes article and photo.
