What could we do with this 2 billion earmarked for no-deal preparation. Wouldn’t you have preferred that money to be spent on housing or education or the NHS?

What could we do with all the civil service time and parliamentary time that has been sucked up and will continue to be sucked up for years in replacing the systems and frameworks and agreements we already have just to get back to where we started?

No-deal does not mean we go as we are but without paying EU membership fees. It means fall out of every single regulatory framework we are in and every single trade arrangement.

We are relegating ourselves from the premier league to the 4th division and although we may have missed a few goals, we didn’t actually lose any matches so why are we demoting ourselves?

We are burning down our house when what was needed was a simple re-modelling. We are digging up the road before we built a new one. What will be our reward for these sacrifices? Well not even the government can bring themselves to explain what those could be.

It’s time to be realistic. We don’t have to diminish ourselves like this. We can remain and take back our place with our partners and continue to build our continent together for the good of all the citizen together. Don’t let history look back in bewilderment at our choices.

Our road out of this is #peoplesVote. It will give us the space to consider our options and give informed consent.
