Good morning. I am already seeing "Why choose the lesser of two evils?" or "Why endorse a candidate you don't like just because you like the other one even less?" so I'm going to explain a thing.
I'll be talking about the Senate because that is both simpler (100 seats) and starker (the recent example of the Kavanaugh hearings) but this applies to the House, too.
If you paid attention to how the Democrats handled the Kavanaugh hearing, you probably have some qualms. But it has to be said: they weren't running the show. Grassley had the power to set the agenda, override them, talk over them, use up their precious minutes without limit.
