Hey, happy people, guess what time it is? That's right. It is once again SHOUTY COMMERCIAL TIME, the time when Seanan Gets Shouty. If you don't want a shouty commercial, wander away from this feed for, oh, ten minutes or so. It won't take long.
Do you like...

* Superheroes
* Bad choices
* Time-traveling lesbians with ray guns
* Irritated superheroines in bunny costumes
* Independent bookstores
* Getting books out of my house?

DO I HAVE THE SERIES FOR YOU.
That's right: all three volumes of Velveteen are back in stock at Borderlands Books, and can be found right here for your reading enjoyment:

biblio.com/search.php?aut…
Supplies ARE limited, because again, independent bookstore: @borderlands_sf has sold a horrifying number of these since the start of the month, mostly because this is the first time the books have been easily accessible in years, but they can only order so many at once.
YOUR POST-HOLIDAY BOOK BUYING BINGE CAN BE AN AWESOME GENRE BOOKSTORE'S BENEFIT, AND ALSO GET YOU COPIES OF VIRTUALLY UNOBTAINABLE HARDCOVERS, HOW COOL IS THAT?!
(When I say "virtually unobtainable," I sadly mean it--the only other copies currently on Biblio are all priced at above $100, because these books have been so hard to find.)
In a world where superhumans are real and superpowers make things complicated, it was only natural that people would try to find a way to take advantage. The Super Patriots, Inc. did it by effectively buying children.
Kids who showed potential would find corporate lawyers on their doorsteps, ready to make a deal. Ready to provide training and insurance and all those fun necessities, and put a check in the hands of the overwhelmed parents.
Velma "Velveteen" Martinez was a little girl when her contract with The Super Patriots, Inc. began. She was eighteen when she walked away from fame, fortune, and the puppeteering hands of those who would control her.
Unfortunately, she didn't get that much time before she had to go back. Because she wasn't the only one they bought, and broke. She was just the only one who managed to get away before it was too late.
She's never been as alone as she thinks she is--from her army of animated toys to her friends, she's got a team at her back. Now all she has to do is find a way to save the team that made her from the people who would make them into something they never asked to be.
Sometimes the difference between heroes and villains is a thin line.
Some heroes wear bunny ears.
So please, if you have it in your budget and you've been yearning for something awesome and new to fill your eyeballs, pick up the Velveteen books. VELVETEEN VS. THE JUNIOR SUPER PATRIOTS; VELVETEEN VS. THE MULTIVERSE; and VELVETEEN VS. THE SEASONS are waiting to delight you.
CW: Superheroic violence, death, child neglect, emotional abuse, a fairly vicious view of Santa Claus, terrible puns, gaslighting, consequences, costs, unattractive costumes.
Here ends the shouty commercial.
