May's going ahead with her meaningful vote. She'll do all she can to win, but she'll almost certainly lose, & if she wins she'll be taken down by the DUP. No Deal Brexit is not a realistic option. Her explicit "threat" to those who don't vote for her deal is no Brexit at all. 2/
No Deal Brexit is unsustainable. If May loses the meaningful vote she'll start the process for cancelling Brexit. After that it's a blame game. She explains to Marr how she'll apportion the blame. And in many respects she is correct - or at least her explanation is plausible. 3/
1. The ERG have been too greedy - correct.
2. MPs in favour of a People's Vote just want to cancel Brexit anyway - correct
3. Labour opppsed her deal because they just want to cause chaos - that's certainly true of the Labour front bench. 4/
So everybody's to blame for the cancellation of Brexit apart from May & those Tory MPs who supported her deal! Her leadership can't be challenged for another 12 months. Will the Tories really have the appetite to go again? Brexit is dead. 5/

It’s ludicrous that this one woman:

A) personally decided as an executive act to leave the EU

B) recast advisory referendum as mandatory

C) purported to trigger A50 with the knowledge it was a criminally tainted referendum

D) had no impact assessments for her decision
The people didn’t decide to do brexit.

Our parliament don’t either.

It was just @theresa_may on her own.

With not impact assessments.

No plan.

And no more formality than running a bath.

Total.

Total.

Joke.
Brexit is built on sand.

It’s an insult to our country and our constitution to do it this way.

If do it we must.

And now it is unpopular as well.

1. One of the most scummy fork-tongued Remain narratives employed by Blair and his fellow remain quislings is that if we stop #Brexit we can focus on the "real issues" instead. We are to simply roll over and entrust the same old faces to deliver a "new deal".
2. And we know how that goes. More patronising makework schemes and "regeneration investment" - most of which is consumed by consultancy firms via a regional quango - and as ever the answer is to firehose more welfare at the plebs.
3. They think Brexit only happened because of "austerity" and no because we are utterly sick of the lot of them. They think they can once again dip into our wallets to dish out electoral bribes and we'll be ok with them pissing on our votes.

Looks like the Meaningful Vote may be about to be cancelled.
Ooh. There's to be an oral statement from the PM at 15:30. Various leaks are suggesting the vote *has* been pulled, but nothing official yet so presumably that's what the statement is for: to present whatever absurd fantasist excuse TM has made for ducking the showdown with MPs.
It's definitely off, for now.

Next, we need various Government spokespeople to traipse out and all claim in quick succession there'll be no second referendum, and we'll be good to go!

Tells you everything you need to know about those people nostalgic for the white ruling class that they never mention the current crisis we're in, the current crises we're suffering, the sham democracy and our eroding state of being are all a result of the white ruling class.
They like to weave this story as if everything was great because they themselves were so well-served by the old order, but what we're seeing with declining health care and wealth and the opioid crisis and institutionalized racism is all the end-product of that stewardship.
Not to mention the rise of the corporate state where our entire country is tied to a volatile market that serves no one but the wealthy and ensures all laws and government are dedicated to serving their whims and interest. Again, this is the result of the white ruling class.

1. All the solutions to the various technical #Brexit concerns are to an extent sub-optimal, complicated and require a degree of compromise. Tories, though, would rather queue up round the block to be told life is simpler than it is.

2. Anyone can blether about sovereignty and self-determination but in the real world, regulation and rules are the WD40 of trade and without agreed norms trade simply doesn't happen. All trade agreements to one extend or other place constraints on sovereignty.
3. Brexit requires of us that we seek a balance between isolationism and subordination but since the EU is the regional and global regulatory superpower in this equation, to a larger extent it will call the shots. This is a simple fact of life. They are bigger than us.

[Thread.] My mentions are now full of stories of women survivors who, because of "complementarian" teachings like those of Paige Patterson of the SBC (a man, btw), were discouraged by their pastors from seeking safety from an abusive husband....
Each one of these survivors is so courageous - true women of valor. (And these are just the ones who have survived, the ones who are free to speak.) Many tell me they were ostracized from their church when they finally left. Y'all, I've heard this story *hundreds* of times....
...What really gets me about Patterson's latest remarks is the complete disregard for children in abusive homes. His "pastoral guidance" means children must watch helplessly as their mother is beaten by their father, subjecting them to emotional trauma & potential physical harm.
