This story is kind of disgusting and shows a very clear bias. I’d bet no one who touched this story has had incarcerated family members. The villains in this government shutdown aren’t inmates getting a rare holiday meal of wings and tough steak. washingtonpost.com/nation/2019/01…
Imagine thinking it’s cool to quote inmates happy that they got a decent meal while spending holidays away from family writing so in letters to family that officers are only supposed to be screening for safety reasons.
We always lay claim to objectivity when we have none. Someone like me who has had several family members incarcerated would have never pitched this story.
I’d also be *very* surprised if the officers did not eat these meals as well.
