The number 5 book of 2018 is My Hero Academia volume 1 by @horikoshiko, @CDCubed,#JohnHunt, #ShawnCarrico and #MikeMontesa
Number 3.

SAGA VOLUME 8 TP
By #BrianKVaughan, @fionastaples, @Fonografiks and #EricStephenson

We never really noticed this going so high, Saga sales are just very good and organic.
And our highest selling book of 2018 is a book that was written in 1991 I think...
And there it is, out top 100 selling books of 2018.

I'll be back on in a bit, but I really need a coffee and call Ryan Higgins and apologize.

Nah I think I'll just go grab a coffee.

Be back soon.
Fun fact, if you added up all the copies of the books that placed 2,3 and 4 on the list.

Infinity Gauntlet STILL would have beaten them to number one.

It was a monster this year.
Like we said at the start of the thread this year's list was different to previous years since we didn't separate genres.
There were a lot of books that *almost* made it into the top 100, entries 101 to 150 are so closely tied numbers wise too.
I think again next years list will be very different. I can already tell you that there's going to be a lot of Spider-Verse related titles in there. We're selling stacks of Miles and Gwen books to brand new readers every day as long as we can get them in.
The great thing about all these Spider-Verse readers is that a very high proportion are brand new customers and a lot of them are younger readers too so hopefully the movie succeeds where others don't. And actually attracts a lot more new readers into stores like ours.
So far, that's exactly what's happening.

A lot of Infinity Gauntlet sales were to people who wanted to see how the next Avengers movie plays out, a lot of Spider-Verse character sales are to kids who just want to get into the characters.

So i think that this has legs.
In fact I think Spider-Verse is probably the movie that'll succeed at helping the comic industry more than any other superhero movie has so far.
But anyway, like I said I'd expect 2019 to have even more of a diverse Top 100 list in relation to genre, format and content.

And that's pretty cool.

Hopefully 2019 we'll be reporting more growth with graphic novels too.
Bruno will be here talking about single issues next week sometime.

I'll be sticking around on here for a while if there's any questions or queries or comments.

Cheers,

John
