/ For those keeping score on just how much polling data and modeling Russian intelligence had, here is some of the reporting. This is not in any chronological order, though I will try.
/ In these 2 reports @carolecadwalla reports on Cambridge Analytica's data analytics and systems being accessed from Russia and CIS. CA is link between Brexit and Trump. theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/j… theguardian.com/technology/201…
/ Now Dr Alexander Kogan, who gathered the data for OCEAN analysis that was foundation for CA data analytics. theguardian.com/us-news/2015/d… Kogan had unreported ties to St Petersburg University. theguardian.com/news/2018/mar/…
/ In same report, Cadwalladr reported that RS Lukoil received CA briefing in 2014 focused on micro-targeting and campaign disruption via voter suppression.
/ Christopher Wylie's evidence to the UK Commons committee is highly revealing. In 2014, Kogan worked with SCL, essentially same company as CA, and Canadian AIQ, for the "Bolton Project." Here is the link to that statement. parliament.uk/documents/comm…
/ Wylie submitted 2nd statement in April. Kogan got FB data in 2014. Basis of all CA models is Kogan's data, even derivatives. CA worked with Trump's Project Alamo and FB during campaign. Kogan's data & models, stored on servers at St Petersburg University had "clear risk of
/ data breaches." Kogan had Russia-funded research at SPU. Kogan was working on Dark Triad psyche research (psychopathy, narcissism, machiavellianism). LukOil briefed by CA. Lukoil had data sharing rels w/FSB. data.parliament.uk/writtenevidenc…
/ Then there is written evidence to UK committee by @EmmaLBriant who was interviewing CA officials for her book research. She reported on the Dark Triad research that it is "engineered to maximize emotional and psychological impact." data.parliament.uk/writtenevidenc…
/ That is what I collected from open sources. @SteveSchmidtSES was a campaign manager. How much influence could you do having those models and that data? Plus, Kogan was at SPU. Are we to believe that the FSB or GRU were not talking to Kogan about the finer points of
/ micro-targeting? Oh. And here is a key finding from professors Christoph Aymanns, Jakob Foerster, Co-Pierre Georg, “Fake News in Social Networks.” If an attacker knows private information (see all above), the probability of a successful attack increases.
