It’s a good piece: but the point is not so much about May’s deal as about any conceivable Withdrawal Agreement given the constraints of Article 50.
Whether an entirely different approach from the outset (eg a Norway/Norway plus approach with no red lines on FOM or ECJ) would have left us in a substantially better place is a question historians will have fun arguing. I suspect it would.
But Nick Timothy, and May’s FOM obsession, ruled that out.
