Important (indeed fundamental) point by @michaelgove on @BBCRadio4: whatever your views on the EU, it and EU law are so woven into our laws and administration that leaving could never be swift and clean.
You are ripping apart the legal and administrative system that underpins our economy and other aspects of our life, leaving an unknown and unknowable set of loose ends.
A feast for lawyers, but very bad news for everyone else.
Just as it could never be a responsible medical strategy to separate conjoined twins with an axe.
That - not delays at the border - is the fundamental reason why “no deal” is not a responsible strategy.

A point for Labour MPs/members to consider.
Labour policy is (essentially) to support a customs union (CU) plus sticking to EU rules on environment/workers rights, plus as much access to the single market as possible.
A CU means accepting State aid (and competition) rules.

The loss of institutional memory within Government is a major problem. Not only staff turnover: record-keeping is often erratic (eg email records are deleted when the civil servant in question leaves the department).
When I was a govt lawyer in the 90s, and I was asked to advise on an issue, I’d be sent a paper file. On a long running issue, this would be a foot high and go back to the 50s. You could see previous advice and policy development. No need to reinvent the wheel.
Nothing like that exists now.

That’s it, in a nutshell.
For the U.K. constitution, this is the equivalent of trying to work out a new mathematics in which 2+2 equals 5.
The assumption has always been that a Government whose main policy is opposed by a majority of the House necessarily falls. Change that assumption and everything else becomes unpredictable.

Don’t know which Europeans Mr. Hannan is speaking to but I haven’t met anyone in Brussels or in EU capitals who is unhappy with the Commission approach & I’ve spoken to a lot of them. #Brexit
In addition, no-one in the #EU is threatening the UK (I wld challenge Hannan to point to one threat that has come from a leading EU politician or negotiator), nor are they stopping the UK from leaving. #Brexit
The EU have been clear from the start that there are many trade models available to the UK & the UK have ruled most of them out. If it feels like the UK has little room for manoeuvre it is because the government painted itself into a corner. #Brexit

Barnier says it's been a "long working morning." Specifically, "We worked together on framework for future relationship and extremely important subject of our citizens' security." Says they prepared for "ambitious" post-Brexit security partnership.
Barnier: White paper contains some positive guarantees on protection of fundamental rights and recognition of the ECJ as final arbiter of EU law. But we now have to discuss how that is translated.

1/ is that the story shows that the FBI investigation didn’t begin with the Steele dossier.

2/. Did you see data described by Lord Bridge (HofL EU Committee 13/10/16) We have used the method used by the Office for National Statistics to record economic activity, which is to use standard industry classification codes,..
