1. Back in 2015, my warning was that the Liberal Party could be more dangerous than the Conservatives, not because their policies are worse (though they are similar), but because they aren't held to the same level of account as the CPC /1

2. Here, for instance, you have a Liberal government ostensibly liberating people from persecution of cannabis usage, but then impose a law which gives police IMMENSE powers of intrusion

3. And because we know (as @DesmondCole and so many have shown) that police powers are not evenly applied--targeting the young, the poor, and the racialized--the 'progressive' Trudeau Liberals have empowered a racist police infrastructure with new tools to perpetuate bias.

4. switching over to labour issues, Harper was often attacked for how he treated public servant and the rights of workers. People remember the Harper hates me buttons? Those were invented by union workers.

5. But many of those same Canadians who stood with workers against Harper yawn now as Trudeau violates their Charter Rights, as we fails to pay workers accurately or promptly, and as he demands a 2 year wage freeze from those very same people.

6. and on the rights of migrants, Trudeau is seen as the 'anti-Trump,' but he hasn't done anything to distinguish himself from Harper fundamentally on migrant rights, such as suspending the safe 3rd country agreement as the NDP is proposing

7. Ultimately, then, Trudeau seems to be getting away with all of this, either because

1. Canadians don't pay attention when Liberals are in Power
2. They don't perceived the ways in which Trudeau's policies are| a continuance of Harper policies

8. But what's the solution? You could vote NDP, of course! But in the immediate term, we need Liberal voters--people of a generally progressive mindset--to hold Trudeau to account on his promises, and call him out when he mimics Harper.
