There have been abundant complaints Google has been censoring and manipulating the web in favour of government and corporate interests for a long time

When oldies complain that they can’t easily find what they are looking for on Google - its time to ask:
🐘Is Google so screwing with search engines, its making it’s product useless? 🐘 or
🐘Is some other agent/corporation/country interfering with Google search?🐘

Project Dragonfly, is a Google project geared for Google to 👉🏼proactively censor👈🏼 “sensitive” speech and comply with China’s data provenance and surveillance laws.

“Proactively censor” is the definition of Orwellian thought policing.

While Google may be enthusiastically “proactively censoring” people - whose opinions its management or cronies, or the Chinese Communist Party / government don’t like

I’m bringing up this subject today, not because of political censorship (a major problem); but because of complaints about apparent ineffective, ecommerce Google search results.

China is IMO the equal to or greater than the US as an economic superpower.

China gained its economic power as a consequence of globalism and neoliberal policies that entrenched outsourcing and off-shoring to maximise profit.

China controls a huge amount of global manufacture.

In 1990 China produced < 3% of global manufacturing.

Below are just some examples of the positive effects less than 30 yrs of globalism & neoliberalism have had on China’s control of global manufacturing
