I had an errand today in Yokohama's newish business district. It is made up of gigantic buildings,as tall as they are wide: you walk for ten minutes in their shadow, shivering in the winter cold, then, turn a corner and walk ten minutes in brightest sunshine, boiling. Repeat.
What's worse, to fill these behemoths with dutiful office laborers you need huge tracts of surrounding suburbs: enforcing compulsive commuting and one-use towns that are empty and silent for 12-16 hrs per day. Cities built to the grid and the machine rather than the human scale.
It is impossible to walk on the sunny side of the street here, and it is impossible to live and raise a family in the suburbs, housewives and older children bored out of their minds, workers stressed to the point of suicide.

People quote Feynman's problem solving algorithm--"1. Write down the problem; 2. Think real hard; 3. Write down the solution."--as if it were a joke about how smart Feynman was. That's one reading, but I prefer a different one: there is no one weird trick.
It's very tempting to ask someone like Feynman (or Gell-Mann, who originated the quote): "how do I solve physics problems like you"? But what you're really doing when you ask this is looking for an easy way out. You want fully general advice, but physics is too hard for that!
A lot of the things people (including me) ask for advice on fall into this category. "How can I write good code?" "How can I be more productive?" "How can I have a bigger impact on the world?" Yes, sometimes people suggest basic life hacks like unit testing or getting exercise...

People used to believe that trust between people was a thing of the past and that machines would mediate it (Klout). This is not true of course. We paid Rodolfo for a ColdCard (with Bitcoin), because he can be trusted. We know this because his reputation is second to none.
Bitcoin is not going to fix anything other than the money, and that is more than enough to change everything, if it does only that. You will still have to trust people, get a feel for them, go one their past performance and all the other social cues that will never go away.
Solving one problem at a time, especially if its a narrow problem, is a good way to build a sound foundation. Do one thing, do it very well, change everything. Lets Encrypt is a good example of that, and so is @BtcpayServer Both of these are significant.
