1/ McCabe is in serious legal jeopardy. He abused the power of his office in a premeditated attempt to entrap and depose the duly elected President of the United States. He has to realize after today’s hearing that Barr will prosecute him without fear or hesitation.
2/ So lets explore the implications and targets of a McCabe flip. The first thing to realize is that all of the corruption and abuse that preceded Comey’s firing would have been very difficult to pin on McCabe and therefor difficult to prosecute.
3/ I’ve been saying McCabe was a target and Comey’s firing was part of a sting. Why do you sting a John? To set up a scenario that’s easy to prosecute. Has he picked up prostitutes in the past? Sure! But it’s hard to prosecute if you weren’t there.
4/ I assume that by May 9 Rosenstein had much more information then we have seen about what the strategy of the insurance policy was and how they intended to use the power of the FBI to undermine Trump’s Presidency.

5/ I don’t want to divert this thread but if Comey did flip going back to the meeting with Trump in TT the day after the infamous “by the book” meeting Rice wrote about in her CYA email on 1/20/17 then Rosenstein knew a whole lot more then people think.
6/ So if Rosenstein knew McCabe was intending to launch an obstruction investigations against Trump following a Comey firing then what he did was take that off the table by writing his letter as the legal justification for the firing. Then he sat back and monitored McCabe. 
7/ McCabe gets called in front of the Senate and asked a few questions. Had Trump obstructed? He said no. But as he’s giving this testimony Rosenstein goes into a SCIF with Warner and Burr.
8/ Subsequently McCabe launches investigations that Rosenstein never authorized and seems to have objected to in the May 17 meeting. RR tells McCabe the idea of a CI investigation into a POTUS is insane and I assume RR also felt it lacked a predicate but Andy wouldn’t listen.
9/ So Rosenstein gets up, heads to the WH, meets with Trump and Mueller and then the next day he appoints Mueller SC. OK I’ve covered a lot of this before but what does all of this mean in terms of a potential McCabe flip?
10/ First, this hasn’t turned into McCabe vs Comey. There’s no tension with Comey on this. The sting came after Comey was fired. These acts are 100% on McCabe. He can’t blame anyone. These decisions were his and his alone.
11/ If anything this is McCabe vs Rosenstein, a much more perilous situation for McCabe. Giving up Comey isn’t going to be what will get him “out of jail”. Nope. I think he will have to give up his coordination with the others in the “by the books” meeting. Particularly Yates.
12/ McCabe’s actions were clearly coordinated with Yates in the early months of Trump’s Presidency. So we start to see the connection between the Flynn “lie” sting that seems to have directly targeted Yates and the Comey firing sting that targeted McCabe.
13/ So if McCabe flips on Yates then you have a person that was in the Oval Office with Rice, Biden and Obama as the strategy to continue the “investigation” beyond the end of Obama’s Presidency was discussed. This is the foundation of #Phase2 with tentacles into 2016.
14/ What did you need in order to execute #Phase2? Exactly what you witnessed today. A badass, un-recused AG!
