Not a Trump supporter and I have questions.
Sorry guys, "The haters" doesn't fly here.
Buzzfeed puts a reporter with a documented history of fabulism on a blockbuster story, which he then offers up, almost immediately, contradicting info from his partner. These are kind of valid concerns and questions and writing it off as "the haters" is not a good look.

THREAD! 1-A number of experts are saying the recent @nytimes @ScottShaneNYT @MarkMazzettiNYT BIG #Trump-#Russia piece is one of the best pieces of journalism in recent years, and IT SURE IS. I had three levels of reaction to this as someone who has closely analyzed this topic.
2-1st, I was OVERJOYED that 1 of the best newspapers FINALLY gave 2 of their best journalists go-ahead & space to cover the #Trump-#Russia the only way it can be properly understood: a deep-dive detailed look at big, overall picture over time. Our society is better off for it!
3-2nd, I was SUPER frustrated generally cuz, 2+ years after topic should've obvi been covered this way only @NYTimes among biggest outlets has done this. W/ smaller respected outlets. Even 1 year into it only @aminterest/@submergingmkt, @newrepublic/@craigunger had. Circa 0 since

Watch the RESULTS of the summit. Seems clear to me Trump called this summit for several reasons:

1) Do a deal with Putin to expose Obama-era Russian bribery to Clinton & others
2) Do a deal with Putin to further isolate Iran
3) Discuss Ukraine & other FP issues
How far does Trump get on those 3 things if, as the media keeps shrieking he should've done, he spent the summit browbeating Putin over social media posts and hacking stuff that was known about on Obama's watch where nothing was done with it & it didn't affect the election?
Trump didn't set up this summit with Putin & ask him to be there so he could browbeat him in front of the cameras over stuff that Obama let slide.

Everybody on the same page here?
