The pack of reprehensible, racist boys in MAGA hats mocking an elder at Friday's #IndigenousPeoplesMarch on the National Mall are from Covington Catholic High School [859-491-2247] in KY [@senatemajldr]. Superintendent @supmikeclines was in DC with them.
Disgusting and heartbreaking.
The complete lack of respect and blatant racism of these @CovCathColonels students makes my blood boil. This is learned behavior. No surprise so many of them are wearing MAGA hats and sweatshirts.
The elder being harassed by racist Covington Catholic High School students is Nathan Phillips, a Vietnam Vet and a keeper of a sacred pipe who holds an annual ceremony honoring Native American veterans in the Arlington National Cemetery.

"When I was there singing, I heard them say, 'Build that Wall.' ...I wish I could see those young men put that energy into making this nation great," said Native Elder and Vietnam Vet Nathan Phillips, as he wiped tears from his face. 💔
“It was getting ugly, and I was thinking I had to find myself an exit, ” said Nathan Phillips about when when MAGA-hat wearing teens surrounded him at the Indigenous Peoples March. “That guy in the [MAGA] hat blocked my way, wouldn’t allow me to retreat.”

A few of the MAGA-hat wearing teens chanted “Build that wall.” One threw a beer can at him. But Nathan Phillips kept drumming & singing, thinking about his wife, Soshana, who died from cancer four years ago, and the various threats facing Native Americans.
