If you deeply observe, everything cum event is your teacher. Imagine how NEDG/BON Debate shot themselves in the leg with the exclusion of @YeleSowore. Now look at what they have on the set...The gap tooth of a General. 🚶🏿‍♀️#2019Debate
Now let me address the @atiku action from my own strategic understanding.

Debate is the soul of Democracy because information is the currency of same. It’s like a war of words where a constellation of ideas are juggled in the bid to win hearts and minds.
In Nigeria we are fast eroding the pillars of the irony of choice that instructs us to pick our weapon of self destruction. We now have credible options thus the reason why an experienced politician like Atiku would rush down to honor such from his trip.
But where in the world have we seen a presidential debate without the incumbent President if he is running for re-election? 🤔
From the positioning of the campaign and Atiku’s demeanor, he has expressed the willingness to debate Buhari and everyone running on any turf. Atiku is a youth friendly leader who buys into the innovative ideas of the educated elite group of presidential aspirants...
...and from my view, he neither sees them as an adversary nor wish to trade words with them but rather rub minds. His core focus is the incumbent ruler whose arrogant and vicious attacks on his person has become a campaign issue.
So any debate without the presence of this key character is a waste of words and effort with friendlies. This from his tweets was regretted if it translates to a disrespect to the people. But it would make more sense if the incumbent can respond in real time to his challenge.
The other candidates are potential ministers and key sector drivers in an Atiku’s Government of National Unity based on the trajectory and possibilities that I see. Thus there are no ideas or approach that can not be harmonized with his vision for the emancipation of Nigerians.
HE Atiku showed up, based on the account of the organizers, got wired but to his dismay his main opponent arrogantly chickened out from what would have been a revelatory cum historical event.

In the end, a superior argument MUST win based on practicality, clarity and experience.
This is the more reason why none of the people’s choice candidates must be excluded from any debate or townhall. Election need not be a do or die, this election must redefine the way we see the future of our country. We already can see the zeal of many who wish to serve.
This is however not the end of this series. There are other all inclusive townhalls and debates to come. This will provide the right atmosphere and handicap (for those that needs aides and assist) to ensure that each and every candidate participate without prejudice.
I for one believe that the people MUST hear directly from the Candidates what plans they have for them to be able to make an informed decision. I foresee this debate happening between the candidates of the major political parties and the new breeds that’s been showing up.
But my vicious and critical self feels this decision to boycott was rather reckless given the palpitations of the street. Nothing presents a greater opportunity to HE Atiku to humbly submit himself to this process where GMB has failed.
It was an opportunity to be seen as different from the old guards. A situation where he can express himself alongside people he has positioned his narratives to support because he believes in the future of Nigeria rather than joining GMB to snub Nigerians.
Is Atiku running to beat Buhari or Running for President of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria? The people know that Atiku may not be as articulate as the trio of @MoghaluKingsley @feladurotoye @obyezeks or as ruthless as @YeleSowore but showing up side by side with these ones count
Government fail when they lose the trust of the people. This is a platform that could have abolished and buried the rhetorics that PDP=APC. Show Nigerians some respect and make that sacrifice regardless of the misdemeanor of the oppressor pissing on us all.
In the end the words on the street would have been “Even Atiku was humble enough to be there”. Well, in some sense he made the effort and could have sealed this by participating regardless. It will only take a sound byte to state that you’d have lived to see GMB there.
From the perspective of the average man on the street this is a play of politics at expense of Nigerians. It will however be expensive to fix. Making these events work cost money, sacrifice, time and planning (Talking from experience). You owe us all. This Debate MUST happen.
To the educated elite this is a classic example of not being in touch with reality. I believe the Atiku team have enough resources and talents to see beyond the vendetta politics of APC and realize this is about NIGERIA and the people.
I humbly submit. I could be wrong...But what do I know? 🤔

End.
