Reminder: No matter how many border walls Democrats agree to build, Trump and his gang will still say "The border isn't secure" and demand more. It's a never-ending scam.

Trump & co. are now, of course, pretending like this never even happened.

Remember: "We must secure the border" and "Our borders are open" etc. is just a never-ending scam. The more border security and walls we agree to put up, the more the nativists and Trumpians say our borders are open and insecure.

When will we stop falling for this?

This tweet may have 1000s of retweets, but it's not really the case that "the few are monopolizing progress".

No, we don't really know how to measure the wealth of the global poor. And the benefits of economic growth are definitely still flowing to poor people in poor countries.
When we measure the economic welfare of the global poor, we should look at living standards, not wealth. It's almost impossible to measure the wealth of the global poor, because we don't know what they own (maybe a bit of land?) or the market prices of those things.
Meanwhile, when we look at growth in living standards, we see that the poorest countries in the world continue to experience robust economic growth.

Talked to a guy recently who had known the Weather Underground back in the day. He made a very interesting analogy: Charlottesville was the alt-right's equivalent of Weather's "Days of Rage" protest, an episode of dumb street violence that discredited the people who did it.
With hindsight, the Days of Rage protest was the beginning of a long inexorable downward slide for Weather's relevance, and I predict that Charlottesville will prove to be the alt-right's high-water mark as well.
But although Weather slid into irrelevance, the broader left movement of which they were an extremist fringe managed to change American culture and institutions deeply and permanently.

Will something similar happen with the alt-right? I doubt it.

2-Let's talk about Nathan Larson and his political views. Mr. Larson runs for public office in the US State of Virginia, and apparently has been doing so since 2008 (with little results) under #Libertarian Party & currently #Independent Party
3-Mr. Larson just happened to have served a 14 month jail term due to an act of ‘civil disobedience’, which in this particular case, means threatening to kill the president (#Bush, at the time), but seems #Obama would have done as well
