Currently there has been too much trolling happening regarding trading seminars, webinars & carnivals. What surprises me is this topic seems to have gathered steam all of a sudden. Now is it some ploy by a select group to downplay a particular 1/n..
2/n..paid seminar is something I don't know. But things just don't seem to be right, why all of a sudden this unflinching love for newbie traders?
Yes I too have my own mentorship programme which runs for weeks. Despite that I have 3/n..
3/n..raised my voice against unscrupulous snake oil sellers who talk of 100 % accuracy & currently with acute competition the bar seems to have been raised to 200 % or some predictive analysis promise, for a simple 4/n..
4/n.. reason IMO markets are random in nature & it’s next to impossible to predict in the long run. Also one has to realize that there is no one size fits all which works in the market & this is what I exactly teach my mentees that of the 5/n..
5/n..various strategies explained one needs to find the best which suits his style of trading coupled with risk management.
Also have seen some tweets regarding plagiarism of trading strategies.
Let me clarify
1. IMO the markets are random & going 6/n..
6/n..forward in the long run it is next to impossible to predict.
2. But for every head there is a tail, so there is one school of thought which believe that markets can be predicted. W.D.Gann was one of them, in fact I am amongst the select 7/n..
7/n..few to have mastered Gann & have done enough research to substantiate my case both with the pros & cons. He did predict turn dates well in advance & the outcome was it did work at times & many a times it didn't.
2. On an average it takes 6/8 years of hard work, extensive 8/n
8/n..reading & research to succeed in the market to become a profitable trader at the end of the year. But in spite of reading various trading books there is still too much confusion which one needs to clarify.
3. Have been reading 9/n..
9/n..tweets regarding plagiarism of trading strategy, but let’s be honest enough all trading strategy used by successful traders have been from the knowledge accumulated from various books & has been tweaked a bit to his comfort, so what’s wrong? The 10/n..
10/n..person/trainer understands the strategy & can explain it in the simplest form speaks of his expertise.
4. Some strongly feel that one should share it free of cost & not charge, well there are some who do this charity for reasons best known to them. My question is 11/n..
11/n..when you buy a trading book do you tell the shopkeeper to convey your message to the publisher i.e. Wiley & co (they publish maximum books on trading) to give it you free of cost? And God forbid if you can’t understand the 12/n..
12/n..strategy or find it of no use do you abuse the publisher & the author on a social media platform?
5. I remember a particular incident wherein I was so bloody obsessed with predicting by Gann theory that I bought a heavily advertised book promising 13/n..
13/n..holy grail secrets of Gann for which I ended up paying Rs.10,000/- (FYI have spent over few lakhs on various trading books) only to find the book full of various charts & no concrete evidence. That’s part of the 14/n..
14/n..game which has to be taken in your strides.
6. Traders don’t have problem blowing up 40%, 50% and at times 100% of capital only to be refilled & they keep the loss balance sheet under the carpet so that nobody knows, they don’t have 15/n..
15/n..problems paying few thousands for trading books authored by goras but when it comes to paying for learning there is a big problem.
7. The world’s best traders & market wizards also run their various training programmes & I know a 16/n..
16/n..few Indians who have attended the same paying an astronomical amount for the same, but when an Indian does it there is a problem.
Finally what surprises me all the more is why are only a select sect of trainers under the scanner? There are 17/n..
17/n..plenty who have been training for quite some time but there is no mention of them. The purpose of this thread is not to defend anybody, yes I do agree that marketing gimmicks of promising the sky is definitely wrong, but do remember good things 18/n..
18/18..in life come with a price tag. Last but not the least money is being charged for imparting knowledge which in terms may help you to benefit monetarily in the long run , if it was a noble cause or charity then I can understand , but definitely not in this case.
