You’ve become a narcissistic, condescending band of outrage warriors with no real knowledge of how the world works, hell-bent on pushing an agenda, getting clicks at all costs, and with zero interest in objectivity. An army of Yglesias with less quirky fashion sense.
You long ago decided to become a political kamikaze, taking the plane of journalistic integrity and reputation and putting it into a nosedive so you could slam into the deck of conservatism and all dissent. Journalism took a backseat to agenda. As if there was a finish line you
just had to get across, a final victory that could be achieved even if it meant burning through all remaining credibility and taking previously respectable institutions, appropriating them for the cause, draining them, and then leaving their husks behind.
Like conservatism and your opposition more broadly would just give up and go away at some point. So it didn’t matter that you were burning through credibility because by the time people realized what hit them it would be too late and you’d have won. But now we’re all standing
here still, having grown to distrust you, there’s no final victory to be achieved, and you want sympathy because the outlet you chose to go political kamikaze with no longer requires a specialist in 20th century French Marxist poetry who for some reason was writing on health care
