Why? Because of power and ideology. They are anti-Government. But they know the masses, who are not wealthy, would never support their plans so the only way is to use horribly divisive, dishonest and dark tactics. For example, voter suppression.

They USE racism, not because they are necessarily racist but to suppress the minority vote

They suppress the vote of young people, and attack College institutions, because they know educated young people don’t support their core values

I don’t think when they started, they thought their years of manipulating our systems, and people, would ultimately prime our country to welcome a form of gov’t completely opposite of what our country was founded on and has fought for it’s whole life, Authoritarianism. I think
