The Persian word for electricity - برق - is a borrowing from the Arabic word for lightning.
Meanwhile, the Arabic word for electricity - كهرباء - is a borrowing from the Persian word for amber.

Middle Eastern languages can be wonky.
The Turkish word for child - evlat - is a borrowing from the Arabic word أولاد. But the Arabic word is a plural while evlat in Turkish is singular. So when pluralizing it with the suffix -lar, it becomes evlatlar, which to an Arabic speaker sounds like saying "childrenses".
Also, a colloquial Arabic word for yes - أيوة - is a borrowing from the Turkish evet.

The Turkish word for no - hayır - is originally the Arabic word خير, borrowed through the Persian نه خير, often used as "no, it's good" and later used in Turkish as a simple no.
