a random note in someone else's collection of notes is almost certain to be irrelevant or useless to you.

this is true even for their best notes: another notetaker's treasure is likely your garbage.

still, someone else's treasure (or garbage) might just be your treasure. why?
others' notes are useful to you if you either:
a) work together, or have situational awareness into each others' work, or
b) have similar interests, skills, responsibilities, goals, or vision

in either case, you can selectively curate notes for each other of high value
this is why more people should #shareanote on twitter, because someone who follows you is disproportionately likely to find your good notes valuable and interesting. this is the exception, not the rule.
