So after my short motivated research I’ve deceived to share my findings with you.

#THETITANIC. A thread

Out of 2200+ people, only about 700 survived. Why? Well cuz of many reasons.
1) only 20 lifeboats were aboard the ship. It could have held all of 64. Some survivors believe that the made valuables priority over the rest of the lifeboats

2) They set two crew members to watch out for icebergs. One of the guys saw it a full minute before the ship hit but waited all of 30 seconds to give the warning. Why? Only God knows at this point. The guy survived but he’s dead now and he didn’t tell a soul

3) so they loading ppl into the lifeboats right, they have a “strict” women and children first policy so MANY of the boats weren’t filled to capacity. Furthermore, that strict woman and children apparently didn’t apply to the wealthy first-class men aboard....

... guess who decided to ridicule the not-so-wealthy men that had to fight their way unto the boats? Literally flinging themselves to safety. EVERYBODY!!! And half these people who were criticised or survived w/out their family committed suicide.

Imagine surviving a tragedy only to kill yourself to escape the torture of living.

4) so then boom. The ppl who made it into boats were rowing away all night (half these boats overturned cuz of the swell of the water from the sinking of the ship but that’s another thread) were rescued by the RMS Carpathia. Yeah? Mhmm. It was 58 miles away. Guess who was closer?

The RMS Californian was just 20 miles away but when they sent distress signals from the titanic to nearby ships, guess who’s operator went to bed? Ding ding ding. You guessed it. Ms Californian over there. It took FOUR HOURS for Carpathia to get to the scene. Tsk tsk tsk

But there was scandal on board too ennuh. One man put his wife and kids on a boat and went to join the line for men. Next morning she buck him on the rescue ship and he said “didn’t think you’d make it”. She promptly divorced him two years later but not after lying about it.

And a love story that doesn’t involve Jack and Rose:
So this rich man drop him wife one a lifeboat right and couldn’t get a seat beside her cuz of that blasted “women and children first” policy. So my mum say “eh eh, I ain’t leaving w/out you” and both a them died hand in hand

Did y’all know that the newspaper that published the news the day after said “Everyone survived the tragedy of the titanic”. Them time deh, bout 714 ppl done dead

So finally, (cuz ion know if anybody still reading) they found the ship 30 years ago up Newfoundland side right 1200 feet deep. Loads a rich ppl were on board. They found valuables worth, and I quote “7 million dollars”. Not to mention these ppl auction everything they find

So yeah, I’m done
