Keep seeing this ‘No Arrest No Prosecution’ thing, by people who don’t really care for the truth. One of biggest myths of 2018. In every one of these States people have been arrested & are being prosecuted. One example: Zamfara, 117 arrests: google.com/amp/s/www.vang…

A #Thread
I think the starting point for commentary like this is to say that no death of any Nigerian at the hands of bandits & criminals is acceptable or justifiable. Even a single death is one too many. And one of the primary responsibilities of any Govt is security. That’s not in doubt.
So, this matter of ‘No Arrests No Prosecutions.’ It’s very far from true. The simplest of Google searches puts the lie to it.Also the Police regularly put out statements on large-scale arrests. I’ll share more links as part of this thread. This from Kaduna google.com/amp/s/punchng.…
I’ll continue this thread shortly
So, back to this thread. Too many false claims by people who not only don’t care for the truth but actually don’t even want to care.

Next time anyone tells you no one has been arrested or prosecuted for attacks on people/communities in NC/NW, tell them ‘yen yen yen yen yen.’
This was two years ago: google.com/amp/s/www.this…
In 2016, Fr John Adeyi, Vicar-General of Catholic Diocese of Otukpo and Parish Priest of Catholic Church, Okpoga, was kidnapped and killed. It took two years for Justice to be done, but it was done. In 2018, the perpetrators were sentenced to death: google.com/amp/s/punchng.…
In April, two Priests and 17 worshippers were killed at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Ukpor, Ayar, Mbalom in Benue State.

Six persons have been arrested and are being prosecuted for those murders: google.com/amp/thenationo…
June 2018: “The Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) on Wednesday paraded 17 suspects allegedly connected to the multiple attacks which took place in Plateau State leaving more than 100 people dead and many more wounded.” google.com/amp/s/www.vang…
May 2018: “The Police on Thursday paraded 56 suspected bandits who reportedly carried out the killings in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State, as well as in other towns and villages in Zamfara State.“ google.com/amp/s/punchng.…
I could go on and on. Every one of these arrests is documented by the media. The “herdsmen” who kidnapped Olu Falae in 2015 were arrested, prosecuted and sentenced to life imprisonment less than two years later: google.com/amp/s/www.vang…
The IG of Police’s Intelligence Response Team, led by Super Cop CSP Abba Kyari is actually runs an impressively efficient operation. It’s almost always just a matter of time for them. Add to this the work of the Military, Police SITs, DSS. Between them they make all these arrests
Now that it’s clear that arrests are being made, I think the issue to focus on is the pace/speed and quality of prosecution. And that touches on wider judicial system challenges and bottlenecks facing Nigeria. Perhaps we need a @TrackaNG FOR prosecutions of bandits/kidnappers...
With this thread - and I’ll probably add more to it with time - I hope I’ve been able to convince you that the claim by @mizcazorla1 (that triggered the thread) is ignorant, baseless and uninformed. And it will and should be challenged everywhere it is encountered.
