I’m in Southern Morocco.

Having major interior design envy.

So.... I’d just come back from Russia when Seat were like ‘do you fancy faffing around in our new tarraco SUV in the desert’. And I was like ‘hell yeah’. (Ok, ok that’s not me but...)

So we drove out to the Sahara, and drank sweet tea and got a crash course on driving on dunes

On the way we passed through villages with people wrapped up against the dust and cycling on the road

The sand is SO red and the desert and sky go on forever so you can’t see where either end

Mostly, there was endless desert. Then suddenly small villages or a random group of camels passing.

Here I am driving over the dunes in the Sahara like it’s totally NBD. I may as well be commuting to Luton

We drank sweet tea and drove through villages where kids rushed out to meet us, and rode camels, and I wish I didn’t look so grump in all my pictures but it was bright so I was squinting

Then we trekked up the dunes at sunset by camel. I think that’s Alegría over there

After the sun fell the camels walked us to this beautiful Morocco camp where we’re spending the night

It’s hard to get pictures in the dark but it’s amazing - Moroccan carpets laid out around a village of candle-lit ‘glamping’ tents. Like VIP camping at Glastonbury.

Well tomorrow we’re off driving back through sand rivers and across the desert in the morning dark - then I’m home 😭. I suppose I should end like a proper influencer with some gratuitous pictures of Seat’s Tarraco. Also here’s @JFossdyke ‘s ass (as he let air the out the tyres)

Good night. I am wearing a fluffy robe in the desert. My real life is chaos - but it’s never been so good x

At 6am the generators came on, by 6.30am the lights, then we drove back through the desert in dark until the sun rose on the Sahara
