In a country that equates Blackness with criminality, Ted Bundy could only be understood as somehow standing apart from other White people, when in fact he was completely average in every way. Just White.

The way he is described here is COMPLETELY CONSISTENT with the way John Henry Browne, the defense attorney who represented him from his earliest contact with the criminal justice system, before he became infamous, has described him.

By contrast the Florida attorneys featured in the Netflix documentary were only appointed once he was notorious and they were super young and inexperienced so their memories may be clouded by all the media coverage.
If you do watch any documentary & see raw footage of Bundy in court, he is not good. He doesn't have amazing presence or make great arguments. I would expect a law student (which he had been) to do way better.
And please read the comments under the article cause they pretty much prove its point.

Like they are incredible.

Never saw so many people go to such lengths to argue something has nothing to do with race.
Well, yeah I have.

But people are so invested in the idea that this serial killer was brilliant, to suggest maybe this mythology has something to do with race, it's like you tore down their idea of themselves.

Seriously, the vitriol shown towards @AshleyAlese is crazy.
