I know I'm SUPER late to the party on this, but go see Into The Spider-Verse. It's visually stunning, smart, exuberant, and deeply, fiercely loving.
also Noir Spiderman is basically just Lego Batman, fight me
(SPOILERS) also I really thought shlubby depressed Jewish dad Spiderman was going to die and I am really glad he didn't and instead got a chance at happiness because this movie loves everyone so much it might burst
ALSO (more spoilers) I love that it was gritty stoic noir Spiderman who was the one to say "I love you" when saying goodbye to people he'd known for like maybe 24 hours.
And Miles' relationship with his dad, who is the Most Dad. *sobs*
Anyway, I haven't seen anything this joyous since Black Panther.

I'm taking a Zohar class with Daniel Matt (see article below), and also learning to knit, and as it turns out knitting while listening to a lecture about the Zohar is an incredibly meditative experience. newsweek.com/2017/07/07/zoh…
And I don't want to read too much into this, but I think it's significantly lowered my blood pressure. I used to have really low blood pressure--to the point where looking down then looking up would make me dizzy--but stress has driven it up over the past few years.
And in the past few months with the knitting and other meditative activities, I've gone back to getting dizzy from bending over or standing up quickly. Haven't actually measured my blood pressure, but the feeling is familiar enough to make me think it's gone back down.

Super late to this party (sorry about this!). This is not a 'tarantula hawk', it is a paper wasp.

Tarantula hawks tend to be very "curly", with their antennae forming loops. Paper wasps tend to spread their wings like that, and aren't as "curly".

With respect to the replies in @chrissyteigen's thread, it's easy to see how the whole situation can be confusing. If you see a bunch of people arguing, it's hard to know who knows their stuff.

Often times, the loudest people, or the most common replies seem to be correct.
If you ever want to play the game of 'spot the expert', simply look for who is using the physical characteristics of the insects to identify them.

Often times, we skip this step to focus on the cool facts about the biology...but we're always happy to justify our IDs.

Super late to the party, but trying to understand the hype/see what early interesting apps/toys are being built on #blockchain/#crypto that aren't just exchanges/trading platforms/stores. What should I check out? Caveats: super beginner & SUPER skeptical as @rickyyean can attest
So far, Steemit at least looks interesting, but I'm finding pretty little else that's interesting. Brave and Metamask were also not beginner friendly at all to set up.
So update: tried out Peepeth on Toshi... lots of issues:
1) Had to pay gas to write my signup to the blockchain
2) Have to pay gas for any write transaction: sending a peep, following, etc.
3) BUT you can batch 15 actions together and write them at once to the blockchain...

Okay, this is a thread of why I got grilled by the border/customes guards for WA/BC four separate times (4 separate visits!!) while crossing that border on my Alaska trip in May of 2010.

Okay, a little background info: I have a sister and a brother-in-law who live in BC, as in Beautiful British Columbia, Canada. I live near Seattle, Washington, USA. In 2010, bro-in-law decided to take his wife on a cruise.
They'd been married for 30 years and had always gone to Mexico to celebrate, so they decided to be different & take an Inside Passage cruise. He rented a limo for transportation, reserved three cabins, & invited along his mother, his son, & his first wife, w/1 cabin bed leftover.

1) It is time for a Revival of Entertainment, something we all know and love. Something that has been lost for a while. We see how well @Marvel is doing with it's @netflix shows, well @Hasbro is sitting on a gold mine with GI JOE. I have written a series that would bring it
2) Back!! We should be honoring our #Vets and Service men and women with shows that would make the youth proud of where they are from. I loved rooting for GI JOE, and the show was a sense of enjoyment, it brought about leadership, & everyone worked for a common goal to end evil
