A true story: I taught high school in Newark and was the debate coach. The year after I left, the new coach was flying the kids to a tournament and one of the students had to be replaced w an alternate. The airline wouldn’t let them. Booker called the airline’s CEO. The kid went.
Y’all this is literally a story. Vote however you want.
Do I need to like, level this out with a good story about another politician or something for y'all to stop freaking out. George W. Bush was nice to me once when I was in college and knew my high school mascot.

Neither anecdote is an endorsement of their candidacy for anything.

This is false. Also, Texas has voter ID.

@TexasTribune Voter ID does not stop anyone from voting if their name is on the rolls (but, again, those thousands of people are not all non citizens). Non-citizens can legally obtain multiple forms of documentation states accept at the polls.

This is a smart thread.
I defended the buzzfeed reporters - they both have done excellent work, especially on Russsia. The denial is deeply troubling and I hope we get firm answers soon. I will be surprised and sad if the denial was really meant to (and truly does!) cast doubt on the entire piece.
We’re living in unprecedented times so let’s all be more careful. Including me. And also let’s all stop pretending we know how this will play out, or even whats happening right now.

The folks harping on about how @BuzzFeed isn't a real news source are simply showing their own lack of media literacy. BuzzFeed has been doing excellent investigative journalism for years on a range of major topics.
Let me help you understand their impact on the field. *ahem*

According to WaPo, they filed their story about Covington High school at 5 p.m.

BEFORE their story ran, a video of the Black Israelite group attacking the students had been posted online, and was retweeted by me.

See video here:

On Saturday at 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, I posted that there were some major issues with the narrative about Covington.

This video DID NOT make it into any off the official news stories that I "pounced" on.

The media pretended to not see this.

The 1960 election is the first of my memory. I was only 5 so I understood very little of what it meant except someone was going to be in charge of us, that was the way my mom explained it to me. President Eisenhower had to stop being president and we needed to pick a new one.
I also realized my dad and my Aunt Flora (his older sister) were going to vote differently. My dad was going to vote for this exciting Kennedy man & my aunt Flora was going to vote for the man who seemed so grumpy to me. I didn’t know his name but of course now realize was Nixon
Fast forward to when i was in high school, I lived with my aunt Flora my freshman year when my family moved to a Michigan for a year. That year while he was president, Nixon came to Mobile to preside over a opening ceremony for the Alabama State Docks. If we went to see him -
