NY TV debut 2/6/54 at 11:30 pm on WABC. IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT with campus Communist twist, Lanfield's 1935 romcom was shown under 1941 reissue title HER ENLISTED MAN. Shown on TV under both titles, as well as 1951 alias RUNAWAY DAUGHTER. NY TV debut 2/28/51 on WPIX, later on WOR.
2/6/59 at 2:30 pm on WOR's "All-Star Movie.'' Producer's extraordinary 1948 love letter to his wife made NY TV debut 3/3/58 on "Million Dollar Movie.'' Network debut 1971 on ABC, which bought a package of films from Selznick's estate. 1978 on "CBS Late Movie.''
2/6/64 at 11:20 pm on WCBS' "The Late Show.'' Leisen's lavish 1944 Weill-Gershwin musical made NY TV debut 3/3/61 on Channel 2, but it would be a while before viewers can see it in the original Technicolor.
2/6/69 at 9:30 am on WNEW. It was rare for a New York City station to show two films with the same star on the same day, but Channel 5 was also offering Lamarr's other 1942 release, the immortal WHITE CARGO ("I am Tondelayo'') at noon.
2/6/74 at 11:30 pm on "The CBS Late Movie.'' A day after showing 1958 remake THE BADLANDERS, Tiffany network was offering the 1950 original, which made US TV debut 10/12/63 on "NBC Saturday Night at the Movies'' and had also appeared in domestic syndication.
2/6/79 from 8 to 11 pm. NBC's ad boasts network had strong-armed Universal into reworking 1976 thriller about sniper with entirely new framing story about an art heist. Director Larry Pearce took credit as "Gene Palmer'' for this notorious version, available as DVD extra.
