I'm sort of unclear on this. Why does it have to be a *special* place in hell as opposed to just the normal part? 🤔
But, more seriously, I can't claim to know what Mr. Tusk's theological convictions are, but I do wonder if Tusk thinks that supporting Brexit without "sketching" a plan actually makes one more likely to go to hell?
This is an example of what elevating "normal" politics—in the sense that debating Brexit is not outside the fold of legal, democratic competition—to the level of religious and theological certainty looks like in practice. And it's not a good look.
To "theologize" normal politics is the new norm unfortunately—where even those who have lost religion, or have no interest in it, sacralize otherwise profane politics. Religion, though, is probably best saved for religion, rather than the imitation of it
