Whose needs count the most: the person driving through a neighbourhood or someone living there?

Because did you know, the number of vehicles daily on Jasper Avenue and the number of people living in the neighbourhood around are roughly equal?

Sure, it's more investment in the core, not the north. But there's a lot of people in Oliver who pay taxes. The city estimates 10,000 new residents will join the existing 18,000 within the next 30 years. Already, the population is larger than the City of Beaumont. #yegcc

The value of development in Oliver is $2.4 billion per square kilometre, 2nd only to downtown.
Roughly 5 times what most suburban neighbourhoods are worth, which means the residents and businesses collectively contribute roughly 5 times as much in taxes. (4/...) #yegcc

Oliver deserves this. So if I’m sitting in my car on Jasper Avenue getting frustrated, I’m going to tell myself to take a deep breath and turn on the radio. There’s something more important than driving fast. That’s living well.
