Hard to live in the 18th century but that's what accepting the logic of AGW really means. Taking less than the therapeutic dose is useless if you believe the diagnosis. Of course the Chinese and Russians will keep flying and so will those whose work is "important".
It is tempting to sign on to the rock concert version of global warming because it feels all virtuous and cool but it's really a commitment to voluntary poverty and primitive life. That is one vision socialism can actually deliver.
But if you really, really believe in AGW then convenience be damned. After all the science is settled isn't it? This is what commitment really means. And the way to bite the bullet is elect someone who will force you to do it.
