I would urge you to think of people much less wealthy than Bezos who found themselves in a similar situation with a tabloid -- they are left feeling scared, alone and like they have no other choice but to capitulate to the demands, whatever they are.

I'm actually headed to the centrist rally, i.e. Howard Schultz's book event at the Barnes & Noble in Union Square tonight.

Who exactly is attending this sold-out event? I will find out.
About 10 minutes until Howard Schultz speaks. A lot of people here have expressed admiration for Schultz, and there are people in the back standing to see the talk.

Two people spotted: Mic co-founders Chris Altchek and Jake Horowitz.
A man was just escorted out of the building after interrupting Schultz's opening comments.
