Labour has a problem with antisemitism which it has manifestly failed to address.
Luciana is a lightening rod for Labour antisemitism.
She has criticised Corbyn over antisemitism.
Perhaps motivations are mixed. Frankly, who cares?
She & others rightly sought answers from the NEC , and NEC refused to give them.
The motions of no confidence followed.
A culture of victimisation has built up such that it can't safely be assumed that:
- a Jewish MP won't be targeted for being Jewish
- the leadership will protect her.
And because she is not a Corbynite there is plausible deniability to allow for clever arguments
It's not about Luciana Berger, it's not about Jennie Formby.
It's about institutional culture. The evidence is there for everyone to see, so keep looking at the bigger picture.
