Parliament should be closed on a Friday.
Most MPs are back in their constituency on Fridays, and you can't start passing laws when there's only a dozen MPs in the House.
Nothing much can happen on a Friday because there's hardly anyone there. But twitter just does not understand that.
Every fucking week. Week after fucking week twitter gets its knickers in a twist because some private member's bill got blocked on a Friday
I've told people this so many times. Parliament does not pass laws on a Friday, and the best thing is if people just ignore it because all they do is get themselves upset.
Private member's bills nearly always involve an emotional subject. But strong feeling and emotional subject have nothing to do with the problem of MPs voting laws when nobody is there
