I am struggling to think of any historic parallel for a Prime Minister delaying a vote to threaten MPs that even though they can see an international agreement is no good they must vote for it because the alternative will be worse
A PM who would say to business that she does not care that they set up in other countries because it is more important that she is allowed to take negotiations to the last week than it is to protect UK jobs
A PM who does not appear to care that UK citizens are worrying about their status as of 6 weeks time, whether that is their ability to work, or their ability to access healthcare or live where they want
We just have to take a pause at certain points of Brexit to remind ourselves that this is not right, this is not a PM doing her best in a difficult job, and that even planning to hold such a major vote at a few days notice can never be acceptable /end

And more savage criticism of the PM's negotiating approach here - in the FT. Which bear in mind global business leaders will be reading. The message about how badly Brexit has been handled is spreading, and the economic damage growing daily. ft.com/content/7a7782…
