X : What has been the most shocking thing for you regarding brexit? The lack of planning?
Me : The most shocking thing has been the extreme level of ignorance of the plight of many people in this country. I knew some lived in a bubble but even I have been taken aback by this.

... the one good thing about the referendum is it has made a few more people aware, alas some want to go back to ignoring it. I know some were traumatised by the result but that pales into insignificance compared to the trauma of everyday life for many.

I know some say that #brexit is taking away "our future" but for many any future, any hope was taken long ago and it wasn't getting better. This is what we need to fix, this is where we need to focus. I welcome #brexit. I'm happy with WTO. It gives us a chance to course correct.

X : But we could have dealt with austerity and the inequality in society without leaving the EU.
Me : We could have but we wouldn't. Instead we would have just continued ignoring it. We've been doing a good job of that for well over a decade.
