1. Just read an assertion that "The UK has shown itself to be an undeserving member of the international community." I'm not sure what that even means. Is this to suggest that the EU is the fullest extent of the international community? Because it isn't.
2. But this is loosely what we describe as the "world stage" where we see "leaders" parading their right-on credentials, entering narcissistic bidding wars to show who is the most righteous. (at our expense, naturally)
3. This is where all the worst globalist NGO inspired nonsense takes root from climate accords through to UN sustainable development goals and Agenda 21 nonsense. Little has done more to erode western power.

1. Holding a People's Vote now would be a huge risk - one which would widen the chasm between Leave and Remain. We need a change of govt., a freeze on Art. 50 & a slew of policies that will address the issues that pushed people to vote Leave in 2016 whatukthinks.org/eu/questions/i…
2. Of course there are those who are just plain racist, or those who are ideologically wedded to being out of the EU (also those who would make the most money out of it). But they are in the minority. For most it is about blaming the EU for poverty and lack of opportunity

1/ @DExEUgov has published the White Paper in 24 EU languages. I've just pained myself through the German document. For those who want to understand the true intentions of the UK the choice of words could be quite an eye opener - unintentionally I guess.

2/ Don't bother going through the whole document yourself - the flaws throughout the document are all visible in these introductory paragraphs
3/ Those in the EU who accuse the UK of cherry picking will see their views vindicated. 'praktischen Brexit' might sound like practical Brexit but actually means 'handy Brexit'. Handy for who?

1. There seems to be a lot of talk (both from the right & left) that Italy should/must/will leave the Euro.

Here's a little thread explaining why in any sane world this wont happen.
2. When Italy joined Euro its Govt debt service costs dropped from 12% to 5% of GDP and inflation fell. This is massive

Unlikely as the fact may strike you Italy benefitted greatly from this.

So why is there a problem & why the talk of leaving the euro?

3. Unfortunately like Greece, rather than using extra money liberatted from saving on debt service to slowly reduce its debts, Italy used this benefit to just borrow more cheaply.

This was relatively OK while world economy fine but when global crisis hit, Italy had no buffer.

1) Megathread - Yes, the #Brexit vote is illegitimate, and it's not elitist to say so

Simply put, a vote that is based on misconceptions and illusions but which *cannot* be reversed is an affront to democracy therefore the very concept of the referendum is illegitimate
2) So why was the #Brexit vote illegitimate? Well, broadly speaking:
1) The Brexit we "voted for" ends FoM, the ECJ & payments to EU
2) This will be severely damaging to the economy & jobs
3) If the public was asked today the same question but were told the above,Remain would win
3) Leave simply would not win if the costs of the #Brexit they promised were revealed honestly in a second referendum. The only way they could win is if these costs were obscured again
