I told you two years ago exactly what their intentions were. Nobody told me, I just worked it out.
I said, the Tories are trying to misuse Article 50 to get themselves a treaty renegotiation.

That was the news two years ago. Theresa May was trying to misuse Article 50 to get a new treaty.
Not one journalist in this country figured that out or bothered reporting it. Nobody noticed what she was doing - except me. Nobody interrogated her intentions - except me.

And I told you two years ago, she will never sign a withdrawal agreement because what she wanted all along was a treaty renegotiation.
The Tories have got this country into an almighty mess they have absolutely no ability to get out of.

So now you get all the inflated boobers like Fraser Nelson crying that it's Europe's fault boo hoo, and they should give us a new tweety, boo hoo, not fair.

I warned you, Europe will not let you misuse Article 50 to scam a new treaty, and they won't let you blackmail them by threatening the peace process either.

You're not supposed to be demanding a new treaty. That is not what Article 50 is for. You're supposed to be dissolving your membership, and if you can't, you should never have given notice in the first place.

And this is why English journalism is such garbage.
In three years nobody bothered asking what her intentions were. Nobody figured out that she was misusing Article 50. That she was holding Ireland and the peace process hostage.
This is totally improper behaviour.

But the English media never address any of this.

You should never have given Article 50 notice if you just wanted a new treaty because that is not what it's for. Europe will not allow it. And this country is way out of its depth.

The Tories gave Article 50 notice with the intention, like I said, of scamming a new treaty out of it.
And now that scam has failed, we have to execute Brexit for real, and despite all the posture and all the gob in Fraser Nelson's school magazine, we can't afford it.

The Tory scam failed, we're not getting a new treaty, we can't afford to dissolve our membership, and someone is going to have to ask for our Article 50 notice back.

Red faces all round, and a few wigs out of joint. But that is the only way it can end.
