On Twitter it’s so easy to react to every new trending outrage but in this age of disinformation ahead of 2020 I think it’s vitally important to take a step back, analyze the intent of the content we’re looking at, and think about what the result of our reaction will be.
One thing the right is good at is laser focused messaging. They align in a phalanx around certain messages they want to push from the top down.
The left… not so much. Yes, Democrats are a diverse coalition but they really need to keep the bigger picture in mind at all times.

The messaging during shutdown was some of the most disciplined I’ve seen Dem messaging. From Pelosi to the base itself.
They successfully eroded Trump’s approval and even flipped public opinion on who would better handle border security.
More of that and less infighting please.

So from now on I hope people keep in mind who profits from a divided Democratic base.
Everyone needs to be vigilant, promote nuance, recognize allies when they see them, and not tear each-other down erroneously.
