When Diego Luna was 5, working on a film with his father, Alfonso Cuarón threw him into a pool to get a certain shot. “And he’s been throwing me into bigger and bigger pools ever since,” Diego says. “In Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN, he threw me into the pool naked!”

I talked to Henry Golding, who just filmed Guy Ritchie’s BUSH (it’s the new title of the movie, I swear) where “every other word is an f bomb or a c bomb.” He shot it at the same time as Paul Feig’s Xmas romcom LAST CHRISTMAS, which gave him real tonal whiplash.
I’ve heard that LAST CHRISTMAS is laced with George Michael music, so that begs the question: Does Henry Golding sing? “If I dooooo sing in the movie,” he teased, “I’ll need a lot of auto tune.”

Trevor Noah is here to present BLACK PANTHER. He told me he and Lupita Nyong’o are searching for a writer to adapt the film version of his book BORN A CRIME. “We hang out a lot, talking about what kind of film we want it to be. There’s no rush. We want it to be good.”
Just spoke to Yorgos Lanthimos about his adaptation of the Jim Thompson novel POP. 1280, announced this week as his next project. He said it’s still too early to talk casting, and he actually has a few things in the mix right now, so he’s not yet sure which film will be next.
