I will debate @BernieSanders any damn time over whether Trump voters are "unfairly" painted as racist. Any. Freaking. Time. If he is AT ALL interested in having a serious conversation about these people.

Or @CoryBooker, if he wants in. Both. Together. AND I'D WIN.
But I won't debate him any "place" because this "Trump country" he is so eager to redeem is DANGEROUS TO MY FREAKING SAFETY.

These people would string my ass up while Bernie is yelling "no, no, I'll give you some healthcare if you let him go!"
The candidate who thinks that these economically depressed white people just need free healthcare and free college to be a little less actively racist SOMEHOW DOESN'T THINK economically depressed black people should get back pay.
Ha. I guess I will also accept @BernieSanders driving me through Trump country, since driving around with black people is apparently the only way white men learn anything.

Remember that time when the NAACP did a sit-in and got people ARRESTED to protest Jeff Sessions's nomination? Remember that time when John Lewis blasted him on the record. Remember that time when the ENTIRE Congressional black caucus tried to stop his nomination?

So, my senior year of high school I moved to Indiana for my senior year. At the new school, seniors got their own parking spots and could paint it however they wished.

In my randomly assigned spot, the previous senior had painted it with the Confederate flag.
People didn't notice this would be a problem until I showed up and then *everybody* noticed it would be a problem.

It was quickly repainted. Not even by me. But by members of the football team which I had been practicing with a little bit over the summer.
I tell this story now because I notice how the #RalphNortham conversation isn't really focused on the harm he caused to his classmates in real time. There were black people in his school in 1984. And 1985, and 86 and so on. Imagine what they must have thought.
